COCKTAIL VENDING MACHINE
01. INTRODUCTION
Boozimba is a tech startup that builds automated cocktail vending machines or robotic bartenders for pubs. I was hired to design their next generation product.
02. DESIGN OVERVIEW
STAINLESS STEEL + GLASS
CONTAINER ASSEMBLY
3 WAY VALE

03. CONCEPTUALISATION
The next generation cocktail vending machine is aesthetically more pleasing yet compact, with internal working mechanism modified to be capable of making 3 different cocktails simultaneously instead of just one. The new design is achieved within the budget and manufacturing reach of Boozimba, with 3 times increased productivity.
Previous generation cocktail vending machine
04. Mechanism modification
To modify the existing mechanism for achieving the desired features, new parts were developed while old parts were rearranged to compliment the new compact design.
3 WAY VALVE
A new 3D printing compatible part design to split the flow 3 way
MIXING CHAMBER
A new 3D printing compatible mixing blade had to be carefully designed to achieve horizontal mixing instead of vertical mixing with same level of precision saving 30% space inside the frame. The new trapezoidal container design allowed the flow of the liquid to continue, avoiding any use of pump at the output.
WEDGE
A wedge was introduced to eliminate the space consumed and complexity created by the numerous pipes to transfer different liquids to the mixing chamber
05. SIMULATIONS
Static stress simulations were conducted on the the frame and container assembly design to analyse their strength and structural integrity under the load of liquids and rest of the components.
